IncludeCare is dedicated to embedding child safe organisational practices that align with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, Child Safe Standards, and the Commonwealth Child Safe Framework. A child safe organisation fosters a culture, adopts effective strategies, and takes proactive measures to promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people.
We want children to be safe, happy, and empowered. We support and respect all children, ensuring their safety, participation, and empowerment. Our zero tolerance for child abuse means that all allegations and safety concerns are taken very seriously and managed consistently with our robust policies and procedures.
We recognize our legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we have concerns about a child’s safety, adhering to these responsibilities rigorously. Our commitment to child safety includes preventing child abuse, identifying risks early, and actively removing or reducing these risks.
We implement robust human resources and recruitment practices to minimize the risk of child abuse among new and existing Board members, staff, and volunteers. Furthermore, we prioritize training and educating our Board members, staff, and volunteers on the risks associated with child abuse.
We are also committed to the cultural safety of First Nations children and those from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well as providing a safe environment for children with disabilities. Our specific policies and procedures support our staff and volunteers in fulfilling these essential commitments.
